If you are new to the internet, especially the internet marketing, then RSS is just another 3 letters. Add them to the list of things that remain a mystery. Hopefully I can take at least some of the mystery away.
RSS is all about moving information automatically. If you always want to know when I say something new on a subject, then wouldn't it be convenient if you could just subscribe in a manner which delivered you the fresh content as soon as it was published. That's is kinda what is going on here.
From the marketing point of view. It is all about relationship marketing with content as king. Furthermore, because it is all about relevant content that is requested... Google loves this whole concept. Remember, Google is all about relevant content and popularity.
Google bought Feedburner and is providing it as a free service. It is a great tool to set up RSS feeds from your blogs, squidoo lens and so on.
